DELORES' OBITUARY
Funeral Services for Delores J. Plumhoff, age 89, of Fairmont, MN will be held at 1:30 PM on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Fairmont. Burial will be held at Lakeside Cemetery in Fairmont. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Monday, October 8, 2018 at Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. Delores passed away Friday morning, October 5, 2018 at Ingleside Assisted Living in Fairmont. Memorials are preferred to UHD Hospice or St. Paul Lutheran Church in Fairmont. The Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Fairmont is assisting the family with arrangements.
Delores Jean Plumhoff was born on August 7, 1929 to Matthew and Lila (Robertson) Dietz in Winnebago, MN. Delores graduated from Winnebago High School. On November 27, 1947, Delores was united in marriage to Darrel Plumhoff in Winnebago. They made their home in Fairmont and were blessed with three children, Dean, Diana and Debra.
Delores worked at the bus depot as a bookkeeper and 3M in Fairmont where she retired from after thirty years. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. She was also a member of the 3M Club and served as a union steward. Delores spent a lot of time hunting and fishing with Darrel. She will be remembered for her love of rummage sales, auctions, sewing, hand crafts, cooking and baking. She was an avid collector of many things, especially coins.
Those that will cherish her memory include her three children, Dean (Tami) Plumhoff of Fairmont, Diana (Doug) Kahler of Fairmont and Debra Baarts of Colorado Springs, CO; grandchildren, Chief Warrant Officer 2, Colter (Savannah) Plumhoff, Ariel Plumhoff (fiancé, Chad LeFleur), Rhiannon (Brian) Gochenour, Michele Miller, Jen (Mark) Jorgensen, Shalom Lancaster, Tina Jean Johnson, Matt (Laura) Baarts; sixteen great-grandchildren; sister, Carol Prather of GA; brother and sister-in-law, Donald (Jo) Plumhoff of St. James and Joan Jones of Fairmont; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
In addition to her parents, Matthew and Lila Dietz; Delores was preceded in death by her husband, Darrel; parents-in-law, Louis and Lydia Plumhoff; infant grandson, Ryan Joseph Baarts; grandson-in-law, Mike Miller; one step-great-granddaughter, Kristen Miller; and brothers, Richard, Donald, Robert and Jerry Dietz.
